During a press briefing on May 14, Gov. Roy Cooper issued an executive order rescinding previous mandatory capacity and gathering limits, social distancing requirements, and most mandatory mask requirements. Exceptions include a mandatory indoor mask requirement on public transportation, in child care, in schools, in prisons and in certain public health settings. Additionally, private business may still require patrons to wear masks. To view Executive Order 215, click here.
