Community Park Event & Grand Re-opening of Town Hall: Saturday, October 15, 10am-2pm

October 9, 2022 Town of Sims

The Town of Sims will be hosting a Community Park Event and Grand Re-Opening of the Town Hall on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 10am - 2pm. Entry to the events will be free, but we are asking visitors to bring canned donations to benefit the Family Food Basket, our local food pantry which serves our community and the surrounding area. We will have multiple vendors at the Park giving out information and selling merchandise, inflatables for kids, a visit from SVFD’s Sparky the Firehouse Dog, icees, face painting, the Wilson County Sheriff Department’s Child ID Unit, an antique car show (at the Community Center), and so much more! Music will be provided by Ms. Louie “The Diva” Bowen, our Emcee for the day! Crystal’s Grill will be open serving fresh food during the event! We will also be hosting a meet-and-greet event at the renovated Town Hall for residents to come meet and speak with your Mayor and Town Commissioners.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help at the event, please call Town Hall. We are still in need of volunteers.

The following vendors will be present at the Park Event giving out information and selling items such as baked goods, crocheted items, floral arrangements, jewelry, home decorations, honey, totes and bags, cosmetics and skin care, garden flags, ornaments, Christmas decorations, wreaths, wood creations, epoxy tumblers and lots more :

J&D Creations- Wooden construction, custom made decorations

L&D Customs- Wooden construction, custom made decorations

Natasha Piehl- hand painted art, small house plants, bead jewelry, etc.

Thirty-one- totes, bags, accessories, etc.

Gas Pro LLC- gas service, bringing truck and excavator for kids of all ages

Madyson’s Little Shop- earrings, bracelets, jewelry, etc.

Scentsy- waxes, burners, plug ins, etc.

Avon- cosmetics, fragrances, skin care, home products

Mary Kay- cosmetics, skin care

Critter Keepers- crochet items, dish rags, hats, pot holders, cat beds, scarves, towel toppers

Uplifting Creations- wreaths, blankets, pillows, tumblers, keychains, t-shirts, monograms, dominos, wine sets

Come support your local business owners, say hello to and catch up with your neighbors, meet some of our new residents, get a child ID made for your children, talk to your Commissioners and Mayor, enjoy some music and fresh air, check out the antique cars and large trucks on display, and watch your kids play and get their faces painted . We look forward to seeing you there!

*Parking for the event be available off of Main Street across from the park, at Town Hall, and other public parking areas in town. Handicap Parking will be available in the Church parking lot next to the park. Broad Street will be closed to traffic. Deputies will be available to assist with traffic at Broad St. and Hwy 264, Main St. and 264 Hwy, and Main St. and Broad St. on Saturday.
